The answers your looking for is in your handbook. If the store managers are doing differently, they are going against B & N policy. If this is the case, your issue is with the individual manager. Don’t expect to get any help from B & N on this. If your store is doing well, corporate does not care how the manager runs the store. If a legal problem comes from something the manager does, B & N will simply fire the manager and deny an knowledge, or fire the bookseller who made the complaint.
There is even the case, involving the college division where B & N and a store manager were bing sued by a book rep. I will not go into detail of what happened, but B & N told the CEO of the publishing company that if the person did not drop the suite, B & N would not purchase books from the publisher. The book reps suite was made while working for another publisher. Not the current one who B & N threatened.
When will you people get it through your heads that these are evil people you work for. Your bitching and wining are not going to change that. A union will not change that. Only way to make you working conditions better is to leave B & N.
