Are you referring to the (LOL) whopping *fifty-cent* raise that booksellers get? Puh-leeze! I have a degree and I have been told that in a reasonably good economy, I am worth $30-40K in my chosen field (as you've probably figured out, the bad economy is keeping me doing B&N scutwork now). I truly feel sorry for B&N that once the employment picture looks better, they stand to lose a lot of bright people since they just can't compete with other fields, compensation-wise (glad I didn't major in retailing!). Of course, none of this is the store managers' fault. I guess *they* must love retailing enough to put up with *their* lousy pay.
