The thing is, in this situation, the employee purchase was legit on half of the items rung up, the way that the computers are programed only usually allows the cafe items (the ones that i am allowed to ring up) to go through with a discount, but what i had never been told is that there are certain items that will in fact ring through with a discount under that plan. Also, I have varification from the supervisor who trained me that we were never trained on this and that she was even unaware that this could happen. I also think that because a manager did see what happened, that is even more proof that this was not done intentionally. I did call HR though and they are looking into it for me.
