I think that before you go crazy calling everyone someone might want to talk to the manager directly...(the shortest distance between two points is a straight line) You might try an asm also that way you've had a documented discussion with someone else just in case of retaliation. However, I know the managers are under strong pressure to cut payroll and it may be a choice (a bad one)the manager thinks is helping... you get scheduled but cut a little extra on the side...but if forced that GM may cut entire shifts. IF its at close that your talking about for safety purposes everyone leaves together so if your done and clocked out you need to stay until everyone gets done. This came up at my store and the GM decided that if people had a problem about clocking out and waiting 10 to 15 minutes for their co-workers that she would give them each specific task to do so people just didnt act like they were working and really riding the clock (and we all know at the end of the night when all books are put away we group together and talk) also she made the night shift start 30 minutes later so no one would go into overtime. Needless to say no one gets out early anymore and when you have school its no fun, so be careful. I would recommend someone talking to the GM first.
